Background
Every child is entitled to an education. However, education might not be easily accessible for children who lost at
least one parent in the most recent Tsunami earthquake, which took more than 230,000 lives in Aceh, Indonesia; 50,000
of which were children.
Education promises a better life for children, yet many obstacles stand in the way, especially in Aceh, where the
tsunami destroyed thousands of schools and killed thousands of teachers.
Our organization
Hope 4 Our Children aims to help the most vulnerable Acehnese children, the orphan children, to rebuild their lives
and obtain access to education. Through the support of a local partner --Yayasan Kita dan Buah Hati, who already has an
orphanage-boarding school of 200 children in South of Aceh and focuses on psychological support to victims in Aceh --,
Hope 4 Our Children intends to bring Acehnese orphan children a brighter future through education and training.
We are currently raising funds to build a boarding school for orphans in Aceh.
For the first phase, we are raising funds in order to build an orphanage-boarding school for 400 children in Subulusalam,
Aceh Singkil, Indonesia
To cover for the building of the orphanage-boarding school, we seek to raise minimum of $400,000 to be collected over
two year period.
Hope 4 Our Children assumes fiduciary responsibility for the fund and will have ongoing contact with the project to
ensure its financial transparency.
